Certificate of Completion
Course participants receive a certificate from our DSHS/ADSA approved course upon full payment and completion of the AFH 48 Hour Course.
Completion consists of: State required attendance of the course for required course hours, and evidence that you have completed components required to submit for your AFH application. Pretty Good Life does not "test".
Don't confuse the requirement of the AFH 48 Hour Course with the deadline for the
One Day orientation hosted by ADSA. You must attend the One Day orientation within 12 months of your application date.
IT'S DIFFERENT!
You'll be glad to know that once you've obtained your Pretty Good Life certificate for the AFH 48 Hour Course, the certificate is good into perpetuity! It does not expire in one year like the One Day orientation attendance cert.
Planning to open your home for care giving requires a great deal of time and due diligence on your part.
Take the AFH 48 Hour course and get that certificate -- and you can mark this task off your checklist.
WHERE ON YOUR TIMELINE SHOULD YOU TAKE THE PRETTY GOOD LIFE AFH 48 HOUR COURSE?
Just as soon as you have decided to proceed with due diligence and planning for an AFH. We urge you to take the Pretty Good Life AFH 48 Hour course BEFORE you start making capital expenses or major purchases (like a house, for instance) so that you have a better understanding of the significant issues -- issues which you will wish you knew prior to having committed yourself to any particular house or plot of dirt for building upon.
Think of it this way: You know when you plan a road trip, you map out your starting point all the way to your destination. We think this course should be your starting point. After you take the Pretty Good Life Course, you'll certainly see why! Remember -- we're here to point you onto the path to business success!
If every business opportunity came with a course like this the world would be a better place.
THE ONE DAY ORIENTATION -- IT'S A GOOD THING!
If the overall process of opening your home takes you longer than 12 months, don't stress about it -- you're not alone. Just know that you'll need to take the
One Day orientation one more time within the 12 month window of when you are finally ready to submit your application.
There are enough changes in procedures and policies during the course of any year that attending the One Day orientation a second time will actually be of benefit to you.
And,
to belabor the point only slightly more, we urge you to take the One Day orientation as soon as you've started contemplating opening your home to care giving. Do it -- you'll be glad for the initial surge of information as you conduct your research.
Choose the Pretty Good Life AFH 48 Hour Course to posture yourself and your business for success -- starting with Day 1.
